VWS Online (Virtual Web Solutions) helps library professionals, educators and website owners put technology to work. Our core topics are Koha, SLiMS, DSpace, MARC records and WordPress, with AI and automation resources that support everyday digital work.

Meet Faheem Akbar

VWS Online is led by Faheem Akbar, a librarian, technology trainer and founder of VWS Academy based in Islamabad, Pakistan. He has worked at the National Agricultural Research Centre since 2007 and manages the National Library of Agricultural Sciences as Senior Librarian.

Faheem holds an MPhil in Library and Information Science from Allama Iqbal Open University (2023). His work includes library automation, digitization, information literacy and training in Koha, SLiMS, DSpace and WordPress. These practical interests shape the guides and tools published here.

Using our resources

Software versions and local configurations matter. Check the version and prerequisites stated in a guide, and compare them with the software you use. A tool result is a starting point for review: for example, a valid ISBN check digit does not establish that an ISBN was officially assigned.
